Waboose Ski Trail

This is a 2.4 kilometer (1.5 mile) classic ski trail offering a quiet remote setting and a chance to see small wildlife species scamper through the snow (Waboose is and Ojibwe word meaning “rabbit”).

Monocle Lake Recreation Area

Monocle Lake is a perfect place to use as a home-base while visiting the many recreational opportunities available in the Sault Ste. Marie area, as well as exploring the Whitefish Bay National Scenic Byway all the way to Tahquamenon Falls.

Mission Hill / Spectacle Lake Overlook

The view from this overlook is something you will not soon forget. From this place one can view Lake Superior, the Saint Mary’s River, Spectacle Lake, the western shore of Canada, and beautiful hardwoods mixed with towering pine.

Point Iroquois Lighthouse

The Point Iroquois Lightstation stands high above the waters of Lake Superior at the entry to St. Mary’s River. It served passing sailors by marking the narrow channel.

The North Country National Scenic Trail is the longest in the National Trails System, stretching 4,600 miles over 7 states from the middle of North Dakota to the Vermont border of New York.

McNearney Lake Ski Trail

The trail offers four skiing loops ranging from a 1.7 kilometer (1 mile) flat beginner loop to a 9.6 kilometer (6 mile) loop with hills and corners that demand more advanced techniques.
